Geelani calls for shutdown on April 18 in poll bound areas

Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani has urged people to stay away from polling and observe shutdown on April 18 in Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal districts.

He said, “All pro-India parties and their leaders are leastbothered about miseries of people. Instead, they are desperate to get to thepower corridors. We are passing through a crucial period of our struggle. It isa litmus test for our conscience, morality and commitment to the movement justlike we did during 2017 parliamentary election in Srinagar, Budgam andGanderbal districts,” the statement stated.

   

Geelani said, “We have invested precious human lives andevery person, family and region has its own contribution which legalizes andcompels the stakeholders not to let these precious sacrifices go waste. Voteson basic necessities and daily needs are being portrayed as our endorsement fortheir forced control. Pro-India parties and its politicians are befooling thepeople with false promises.”

He said all mainstream leaders including fresh entrants havea common goal to carry forward New Delhi’s agenda in Kashmir. “Sheddingcrocodile tears on 35-A, 370, AFSPA, PSA or riding a deceitful slogan ofchange, all of them sail in the same boat,” Geelani said.

Hurriyat chairman said, “Conscious nations always strivehard to safeguard the future of their coming generations and we have got theopportunity to prove ourselves once again.”
