Geelani pays tributes to slain militants, youth

Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelanihas paid rich tributes to the militants killed in a gunfight with thegovernment forces in Handwara.

 In a statementGeelani said that “New Delhi’s insensitivity, unconcern, denial and unrealisticapproach are the reason for this unabated bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir.”

   

He condemned what he called “the excessive use of militaryforce against the innocent protestors” and killing of a Waseem Ahmad Mir andexpressed his deep sorrow on this gruesome incident, paid rich tributes to himand expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.

“These youths spilled their hot blood for the Kashmir causeand the entire nation is indebted to them for their ultimate sacrifice. It isthe collective responsibility of the oppressed nation to take the ongoingmovement to its ultimate destination,” Geelani said.

Geelani said that “loss of human lives is a serious concernfor every noble soul and there is no other option other than to honor andsafeguard every precious live.”

He said that “unless the age old wounds are not healed andpractical and concrete measures are not taken up by the rulers human blood willcontinue to spill over and permanent political, economic and regional stabilitywill remain a distant dream.”

He said the “greatest service, to the humanity in generaland their inhabitant in particular, is that forced control should end and everyindividual should be allowed the right to live his own life.”

He said that “sooner India adopts a realistic and justifiedapproach, South Asia particularly Indian sub-continent will heave a sigh ofrelief and peace and tranquility will prevail everywhere. It will also help toreshape New Delhi’s image.”
