Geelani, Sehrai, others pay tributes to militants killed in Shopian, Budgam

Various pro-freedom leaders and parties have paid rich tributes to the militants who were killed in gunfights with the forces in Shopian and Budgam districts on Sunday and Monday.

Paying rich tributes to the slain militants, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani reiterated that the “youth of Kashmir were forced to opt for gun as a reaction to Delhi’s military and forcible control of the state.”

Terming Kashmir as a bone of contention between the two nuclear powers of the sub-continent, Geelani, in a statement said, “The stubborn attitude of New Delhi regarding this globally accepted political dispute and dealing it with it only militarily has created death and destruction in whole state.”

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, while paying tributes to the slain militants, in a statement said, “Our youth are nourishing our struggle with their blood.”

“The forces have been trying their best to kill the Kashmir story but even if Indian forces would kill generation after generation, yet it won’t be able to crush the ongoing movement. Their brutalities will not suppress the spirit of the Kashmiris. In fact it will only intensify and fortify our determination,” Sehrai said.

Paying glowing tributes slain militants, the incarcerated chairman of Tehreek-e-Muzahamat (TeM) Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui,  said, “Our brave youth are sacrificing their prime youth for the Kashmir cause and Islam.”

“They are leaving their homes, relatives and shining careers for the grace and glory of nation and Ummah and offering supreme sacrifices of their lives. We as a mature nation need to understand the importance of these huge and sacred sacrifices and should renew our pledge to continue the march till the goal is achieved,” Sidiqui added.

Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) chairman Zaffar Akbar Bhat, while paying rich tributes to the slain militants, in a statement said, “Our nation can’t ignore the supreme sacrifices of youths who on daily basis are dedicating blood and precious lives for our better political future. It’s our moral and collective responsibility to show steadfastness, commitment and safeguard their sacrifices,” he said.
