Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday welcomed the United Nations Human Rights High Commission’s fresh initiative for asking India to submit its report with reference to human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
He said that the UN bears moral and political obligations to address Kashmir issue at the earliest and “till its final resolution ensure right to live with liberty and dignity to the people of Kashmir”.
Urging an early visit by the UNHRC, Amnesty International, ICRC and other human rights groups to J&K to take on spot stock of human rights situation in the state , Geelani pinned hope that the UN as a responsible institution shall come to the rescue of the people of J&K.
Meanwhile Geelani welcomed appointment of Moien-ul-Haq as Pak-Ambassador to India
In his message, Hurriyat Cairman expressed hope that Moien-ul-Haq shall leave no stone unturned to render diplomatic services in his new destination.
He prayed for his success in relation to his new appointment.
