Geelani welcomes UNHC initiative on Kashmir

Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday welcomed the United Nations Human Rights High Commission’s fresh initiative for asking India to submit its report with reference to human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the UN bears moral and political obligations toaddress Kashmir issue at the earliest and “till its final resolutionensure right to live with liberty and dignity to the people of Kashmir”.

   

Urging an early visit by the UNHRC, Amnesty International,ICRC and other human rights groups to J&K to take on spot stock of humanrights situation in the state , Geelani pinned hope that the UN as aresponsible institution shall come to the rescue of the people of J&K.

Meanwhile Geelani welcomed appointment of Moien-ul-Haq asPak-Ambassador to India

In his message, Hurriyat Cairman expressed hope thatMoien-ul-Haq shall leave no stone unturned to render diplomatic services in hisnew destination.

He prayed for his success in relation to his new appointment.
