Greater Kashmir correspondent Mudasir Yaqoob was felicitated with Green Award 2019 for his contribution in raising awareness on environmental issues.
The award was presented by RTI activist Dr Raja Muzaffar,who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Yaqoob received the award in print media category. Accordingthe Himalayan Welfare Organisation, the organisers of the award function,Yaqoob was selected for his contribution in highlighting the issue of solidwaste management and making awareness about Swachh Bharat Mission through hiswrite ups.
Tour guide Rouf Ahmad Dar, who died while saving touristslast month, was also felicitated posthumously.
“This year 21 recipients for the second edition of HimalayanGreen Awards 2019 for categories of environment, education, health, healtheducation, print media, electronic media, hospitality, adventure sports andtourism development, hospitality were announced,” said the organisers.
