Governor, Abdullahs condole Rahul Jalali’s demise

Governor Satya Pal Malik Saturday expressed grief over the demise of veteran journalist Rahul Jalali.

In a condolence message, the Governor conveyed sympathies tothe bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

   

Meanwhile, National Conference President, Dr FarooqAbdullah, and Vice-President, Omar Abdullah, also condoled Jalali’s demise.

The party President, while expressing grief, said, “One moresane voice from the journalistic fraternity has turned silent. My sincere condolencesto the deceased’s family. His death is a big loss to the journalisticcommunity. May his soul rest in peace.”

The party Vice-President said, “We have lost a veteranKashmiri journalist. It is a huge loss for the fraternity as well as for the stateitself. He shall be fondly remembered for his immense knowledge on Kashmir. Ipay my tributes to his soul.”

Besides, party’s Provincial President, Nasir Aslam Wani,chief spokesperson, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, and Provincial spokesperson, ImranNabi Dar, also paid tributes to Jalali.

Also, the officers and officials of department ofInformation and Public Relations (DIPR) expressed grief on Jalali’s demise.

Soon after hearing the news about the death, a condolencemeet was held at the Directorate of Information which was presided over byDirector Gulzar Ahmad Shabnam.

The speakers recalled Jalali’s contribution and said thathis role in cementing the relations between the department and the media wouldinspire the younger generations.
