Governor, Advisor, Abdullahs greet people on Buddha Purnima

Governor Satya Pal Malik has conveyed his greetings on Buddha Purnima and hoped that this auspicious occasion would augur peace, progress and prosperity in the State, an official handout said.

In his message of felicitations, the Governor described lordBuddha an apostle of peace whose message of “ahimsa” and non-violence assumesmuch greater relevance today when the world is faced with growing intolerance,violence and terrorism.

   

Governor prayed for the wellbeing of the people of theState.

Governor’s Advisor K K Sharma has also extended heartiestgreetings to people.

In his message of felicitations, the Advisor described lordBuddha an epitome of peace.

He said people should follow the path and teachings of thelord Buddha for leading a peaceful and contented life. He prayed for the wellbeing of the people of the State.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference PresidentDr Farooq Abdullah and Vice-President Omar Abdullah Friday extended warmgreeting to the people on the eve of Budhha Purnima.

The duo in their message said, “May we be enlightened onthis day on the path of love, compassion, peace and truth. On this day we prayfor abundance, fortune and prosperity to the people of state. The message ofBuddha to the world was that of compassion and love.”

NC General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar, ProvincialPresident Nasir Aslam Wani, Hanifa Jan, P. Angchuk also greeted the people.
