Governor, Advisors, politicians greet people on Mela Kheer Bhawani

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik, his Advisors and leaders of various political parties have extended warm greetings to the people on the occasion of Mela Kheer Bhawani being celebrated in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday.

Governor Malik  in hismessage of greetings said that this festival is a shining example of communalharmony and brotherhood, which have been the hallmarks of the gloriouspluralistic ethos of Jammu and Kashmir in the centuries past.

   

Governor has prayed for peace, harmony, progress andprosperity in the State.

Governor’s Advisors Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, K K Sharma and K Skandan also extended theirgreetings to the people of the state, especially the Kashmiri Panditcommunity.  “The holy festival epitomizesmutual brotherhood and communal harmony in the state which is a shining exampleof unity in diversity of cultures, regions and religions,” they said.

National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah andvice-president Omar Abdullah while expressing their warm greetings said,”Kashmiri Pandits are a part of our pluralistic culture.  The distinctive pluralistic culture ofKashmir is incomplete without our Kashmiri pundit brethren. Festive occasionslike Mela Khir Bawani invigorate further the cause of brotherhood and amity inthe Valley.”

Other NC leaders, including party general secretary Haji AliMuhammad Sagar, Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Nasir Aslam Wani, Shameema Firdous,Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hasnain Masoodi, Imran Nabi Dar, Bhushan Lal Bhat, VijayBakaya and Sameer Koul  also greeted thepeople on the occasion of Mela Kheer Bhawani.

Mehbooba Mufti

President Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti inher felicitation message urged the Pandit community to pray for state’sprosperity and peace. She wished the day to be the harbinger of happiness anddevelopment in Jammu and Kashmir.

The PDP vice- president A R Veeri  also felicitated the Kashmiri Panditcommunity on the occasion of Mela Kheer Bhawani and extended warm greetings and salutations to the Pandit brethren.

Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone also extendedwarm greetings to the people, particularly Kashmiri Pandits, on the occasion.

In his message, the PC Chairman observed that the festivalis a glorious example of communal harmony and brotherhood. “Celebration ofthe Mela in amity and brotherhood is the hallmark of the pluralistic ethos ofJammu and Kashmir.”

The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC)President G A Mir  in his message saidthat Mela Kheer bhawani will continue to be the manifestation of age-oldtradition of brotherhood, harmony and multi cultured ethos in Jammu and KashmirState, it will continue to unite the people leading them at path of friendship& unity.

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) president  Dr Shah Faesal said, “Mela Kheer Bhawaniis an important festival for the state and a marker of its pluralism andinclusion. State government should ensure adequate funds for the conduct of thefestival.”

Faesal visited Mata Kheer Bhawani temple at Tikker Kupwaraand spent time with Kashmiri Pandit devotees.

JKPM, Patron, Javed Mustafa Mir also felicitated people ofthe state especially Kashmiri Pandit brethren on the auspicious occasion ofMela Kheer Bhawani.

CPI(M) leader  M YTarigami  In his felicitationmessage  said that the day reminds usabout the communal harmony and brotherhood which is the landmark of Kashmiri’srich culture and ethos. He said the occasion renews resolve of the people ofthe State towards upholding the value and high traditions of co-existence,brotherhood and communal harmony. He said the philosophy of Kashmiryat withoutexistence of Kashmiri Pandits shall be incomplete.

Chairman of Kashmir Sikh Education & Charitable TrustBaldev Singh while expressing his warm greetings said, “The festival is aglorious example of communal harmony and brotherhood. Celebration of the Melain amity and brotherhood is the hallmark of the pluralistic ethos of Jammu andKashmir.On this day I greet the people especially the Kashmiri Panditcommunity,” he said.
