People’s Conference (PC) senior vice-president Abdul Gani Vakil today welcomed Governor Satya Pal Malik’s statement on “eradicating corruption from the state by taking action against politicians and bureaucrats involved in corruption.”
“Some politicians and bureaucrats have amassed wealth byloot and plunder of state’s resources. This is the reason why Jammu and Kashmirtops the list of most corrupt states in the country,” Vakil said in astatement.
Appreciating the Governor’s decision to scrap group medicalinsurance policy for government employees, Vakil said, “The Governor must nameand punish those powerful officers involved in the Rs 150-crore scam.”
He said, “The traditional parties have always misled thepeople of Kashmir. Time and again, the NC and the PDP have sold false promisesto the people of Kashmir, which has resulted in furthering the alienation and thedisenchantment in the state, particularly the Valley.”
Vakil welcomed Governor’s assurances on maintaining statusquo on Articles 370 and 35A.
