Governor’s commitment to Children with Special Needs fulfilled by Samagra Shiksha

On the eve of World Disability Day organized on 4th of December, 2018 at Teachers Bhawan Jammu, many Children with Special Needs (CWSN) participated and exhibited their talent. Governor Satya Pal Malik lauded the efforts of these children and cheered the team of Samagra Shiksha for conducting such programmes. The Governor committed to provide bicycles to two children and painting stationery to another boy who exhibited extra ordinary talent and earned laurels for state.

Following the same and keeping the honor of Governor’scommitment, State Project Director Samagra Shiksha procured the said items andlater distributed to the concerned students.

   

All terrain bicycles were distributed to two students namelyZahid Manzoor and Master Amir Yousuf in district Budgam in presence ofconcerned Chief Education Officer and other Educational Administrators. MasterAmir Yousuf is a hearing impaired child and had secured second position inpainting at a national level Anjali Festival held in Orissa during October2018. Master Zahid Manzoor also brought laurels for state in athletics at thesame festival.

Rahul Kumar who is orthopedically challenged was providedwith all the high quality items used for painting. During World Disability Day,he drew the sketch of Governor Satya Pal Mailk and presented the same to himpersonally as a token of respect. It was committed by the Governor that allbest available facilities shall be provided to these children so as to boosttheir moral. The distribution was held on 18-05-2019 at Teachers’ Bhawan by Dr.Arun Manhas, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha. Manhas while interactingwith the parents and teachers assured that Directorate of Samagra Shiksha isconsistently providing all possible support to children with special needs inorder to fulfill their educational requirements. This will ensure the realsense of inclusion in present context of education system, he added. Dr. Arunalso informed the media personals that recently various kind of allowances andstipends have been disbursed to CWSN directly to their bank accounts underDirect Benefit Mode.

The students as well as their parents expressed theirsincere gratitude to Governor Satya Pal Mailk for fulfilling his commitment andencouraging such hidden talents of students.
