Govt appoints 70 general observers to oversee Panchayat elections

The Jammu and Kashmir government today appointed seventy (70) observers to oversee the conduct of Panchayat elections-2018 in Jammu and Kashmir.  

The General Administration Department (GAD), in Government Order No.1577-GAD of 2018, dated 23-10-2018, accorded sanction to the nomination of 70 officers of different departments as general observers for conduct of Panchayat elections-2018.

   

Thirty five (35) general observers each have been appointed for Jammu, while equal number of general observers have also been appointed for and Kashmir division.

The exact deployment of officers as observers to oversee the conduct of Panchayat elections shall be made by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), J&K, the order reads.
