Govt clears Kendriya Vidyalaya for Kupwara

The Administrative Council (AC) which met under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu accorded sanction to transfer of Shamilat (Kahcharai) land measuring 40 kanals in Drugmulla village of Kupwara district to School Education Department for establishing Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kupwara.

The Council also accorded sanction to the transfer of 40kanals of land to the Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitationand Reconstruction for establishing transit accommodation for Kashmiri migrantgovernment employees under PM package in village Deegam in Shopian district.

   

In another decision, theCouncil accorded sanction to establishment of two Centres for Invention,Innovation, Incubation and Training (CIIIT) in J&K.

The Centre in Kashmir shall be established at GovernmentPolytechnic, Baramulla and the location for establishment of CIIIT in Jammudivision shall be finalized soon.

The move is aimed atproviding skill training to students of Engineering Colleges, PolytechnicColleges and ITIs besides, the unemployed Engineering Degree/Diploma holdersand Engineering graduates who are employed but in need for career enhancementthrough up-gradation of latest technological skills.

This project will be an industry-led consortium as a jointventure between government of J&K and Tata Technologies to facilitateinnovation and skill development of students, industry professionals for skilldevelopment and creating entrepreneurships.

Through this project, Tata Technologies have proposed tointroduce 18 courses and many other subsidiary courses with an annual intakecapacity of 2,880 students/professionals receiving training and skilldevelopment.
