‘Govt has appointed 11 NREGA ombudsmen’

Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development department has clarified it has appointed 11 ombudsmen of impeccable integrity for all districts of the state.

Refuting reports, RRD in a communiqué stated that J&K government has engaged 11 ombudsmen of eminent standing and impeccable integrity with required experience, for 22 districts of state.

   

The said ombudsmen have already started functioning at their respective district headquarters.

Their appointment was also notified by the J&K rural development and panchayat raj department. The main objective of the institution of Ombudsman is to receive grievances/complaints, enquiring, redressal of grievances/complaints and passing awards relating to implementation of MGNREG Act and schemes.
