Pertinently, the state awards are conferred for excellence in several fields on the eve of Republic Day.
The Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, in a notification, invited nominations for grant of state awards.
“As per the scheme of awarding state awards, the nominations shall be made by social organisations, sports bodies, NGOs, universities, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, administrative secretaries in relation to awards for meritorious public service, divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners,” said, an order issued the General Administration Department.
“All the concerned are requested to send suitable nominations/recommendations of eligible persons/organisations, along with citation(s), brief bio-data and supporting documents by or before November 30, 2018,” the order added.
Pertinently, the state awards are conferred for excellence in several fields on the eve of Republic Day. The fields include, award for bravery, for achievements in the field of literature, for performing arts, excellence in arts and crafts, for social reforms and empowerment, meritorious public service (in which two awards are reserved for non-gazetted officials, for life time achievements in any field, for outstanding sports persons, for outstanding media persons, for outstanding environmentalists and for outstanding industrial entrepreneurship.
