Govt should take steps necessary steps for settling displaced KPs in Kashmir: Chrungoo

Kashmiri Pandit (KP) leader and Bharatiya Janata Party’s Incharge Political Affairs and Feedback Ashwani Chrungoo Thursday said urged the government to take steps that were a prelude to the settlement of the displaced KPs in Kashmir.

A statement of Chrungoo issued here said that while addressing a news conference here he urged the government, political parties and KP organisations to take steps that were necessary for settling the displaced KP community in the Valley. The statement said Chrungoo paid a visit to the Ganpatyar Temple at Habba Kadal on Wednesday and found the temple in a “pathetic” state.

“I appeal the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Lt Governor of J&K for the constitution of a board for all Hindu religious and cultural centers, temples and shrines of Kashmir,” he said in the statement. Chrungoo also expressed satisfaction over the voting percentage in the District Development Council (DDC) polls.

“An overall voting percentage of 50 in J&K despite severe cold, COVID19 situation and the background of boycott politics is not a mean achievement,” he said. “The three As – Azadi, Autonomy and Article 370 and 35-A have been buried deep down the ground in J&K.”
