Greater Noida college suspends Kashmiri student for social media post on Pulwama attack

IIMT College of engineering, Greater Noida has suspended a Kashmiri student for posting an ‘anti-national’ comment over Pulwama attack on social media.

The chief proctor of the college Sanjay Pachauri has also written to concerned senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and demanded an “exemplary and strict action” against the “culprit.”

   

“llMT desires that strict and exemplary action should be taken against the culprit,” reads a letter addressed to SSP Gautam Budh Nagar.

Chief Proctor has stated that lshfaq Ahmad Khoja from Kupwara was suspended from college on February 16 after he posted “anti –national” comment on social media.

“On being asked he (Ishfaq) replied via Facebook that his ID has been hacked and was directed to lodge an FIR at local J&K police station. But he failed to comply with the direction,” reads the letter.

Sanjay Pachauri in his letter has stated that such “anti-national” activity was of utmost serious nature and pertains to national security. “You are requested to investigate into the matter and bring forth the culprit,” reads the letter.
