National Conference (NC) senior leader Mubarak Gul Friday expressed deep anguish over the blaze that gutted the Madrasa Islamiya Arabia Dar-us- Salaam, Baghwanpora Noorbagh.
In a statement issued here, Gul said that the building was fully damaged and books and other belongings worth lakhs of rupees had been destroyed.
“The incident has filled the locals with grief as the seminary had been actively involved in preaching the scholars and students with the various facets of Islam. The district administration should compensate for the losses so that early reconstruction of the seminary is undertaken,” he said.
He said despite the fire tenders reaching the spot to douse the flames, the belongings of the school turned into ashes.
