A gunfight broke out in Dalipora area of Pulwama town in south Kashmir on Thursday, reports said.
A police officer told news agency GNS that a joint team of army and SOG cordoned off Dalipora area near police station Pulwama following specific information about the presence of some militants in the area.
As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches, the militants opened fire leading to an encounter.
The exchange of fire was on when last came in.
