A gunfight broke out between the government forces and militants at a village in south Kashmir Shopian district on Saturday afternoon.
A police official said that at around 3:20 pm a firefightbroke out between the forces and militants in the apple orchads, fallingbetween Pargochi and Khauram villages of the district.
A fierce exchange of fire from the both sides was going onat the time of filing this report.
