A gunfight is underway between militants and the security forces in Panzgam area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 55 RR, SOG and 185 BN CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Panzgam following inputs about the presence of militants.
Quoting a senior police officer, news agency GNS reported that contact has been established with militants.
Unconfirmed reports said a militant was killer in the firefight.
The exchange of fire was on when this report was filed.
