Authorities have declared Guzhama village as Red Zone after first positive case of COVID-19 was reported from this area of Ganderbal district on Sunday
An official said that 60 year-old man from Guzhama village of tehsil Wakura tested positive for COVID-19 and become the first case of coronavirus in the district.
Deputy commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal said that he has been sent to quarantine. “He tested positive today and has no foreign travel history,” he said.
He said in view of the first case reported, Guzhama village has been declared Red zone and its surrounding areas Batpora and Khanpira as buffer zones.
Meanwhile, seven persons who were quarantined as a precautionary measure for two weeks here in Government College of Physical Education Gadoora Ganderbal (Administrative Quarantine) and Primary health centre Wussan have been sent back to their homes after the completion of 14 days period.
