Authorities have declared Guzhama village as Red Zone after first positive case of COVID-19 was reported from this area of Ganderbal district on Sunday
An official said that 60 year-old man from Guzhama villageof tehsil Wakura tested positive for COVID-19 and become the first case ofcoronavirus in the district.
Deputy commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal said that he hasbeen sent to quarantine. “He tested positive today and has no foreigntravel history,” he said.
He said in view of the first case reported, Guzhama villagehas been declared Red zone and its surrounding areas Batpora and Khanpira asbuffer zones.
Meanwhile, seven persons who were quarantined as aprecautionary measure for two weeks here in Government College of PhysicalEducation Gadoora Ganderbal (Administrative Quarantine) and Primary healthcentre Wussan have been sent back to their homes after the completion of 14days period.
