Hakim, Bhat, Tarigami, Soz hail statements by army chiefs

Terming India and Pakistan army chiefs’ statements about resolution of issues through dialogue as a good omen for peace, chairman PDF and MLA Khansahib Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has hoped that better sense will prevail upon both the countries to start peace initiatives.

“Sooner the leadership of the two neighboring countries sit together on a negotiating table to sink their differences, the better it would be for the people,” he said in a statement.

In a statement, PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat said people of J&K are the only stakeholders who have been sufferers of flip-flop on resolution of the Kashmir problem. Appreciating the statements, CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said only time will tell how sincere the political leadership in both the countries is to  backup the suggestion of their military commanders. Congress leader Prof. Saifuddin Soz said that Rawat has finally realized that bullets can never achieve any purpose in Kashmir. “Earlier, when he characteristically described power of the gun, he had rejected the path of reconciliation through dialogue and discussion.” GKNN
