Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association (HCBA), Srinagar, Friday decided to defer the proposed seminar on the right of self determination scheduled to be held on Saturday, at Saddar Court Complex, Batamaloo here following denial of permission
“J&K High Court Bar Association, Srinagar, on 23rdmartyrdom of Advocate Jalil-ul-Qadar Andrabi, had decided to abstain from courtwork on 30 March 2019 in his honour and also as to enable the members of theBar Association to participate in a seminar at District Court complexMominabad, Batamaloo, Srinagar on the given topic,” said spokesperson in astatement.
He added ‘district and sessions judge Srinagar has informedBar Association through official written communication that the proposedseminar cannot be permitted inside the District Court Complex under law.”
“It was also decided that a general body meeting of Barmembers shall be held tomorrow in Lawyers common room at 2 pm at District CourtComplex, Moominabad, Batamaloo, Srinagar where the matter will be discussedfurther,” it reads.
