A man died after avalanche hits his residential house at Sanbradi Magam in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday evening.
As per an official, avalanche hit the residential house of Bashir Ahmad Qureshi son of Noor Mohammad Qureshi resident of Sanbradi Magam of Kokernag.
He said Bashir died while his wife continues to remain trapped under snow, even as rescuers were trying hard to rescue her.
Earlier, officials said that they had rescued two of the family members.
Deputy commissioner Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik told Greater Kashmir that the operation to rescue the trapped woman is still in progress.
