‘HOUSING FOR ALL’ | No family will be left without a home by 2022: PM Modi

Prime Minister, Narendra Modi today chaired his 30th interaction through PRAGATI with Union Secretaries of various Ministries and Chief Secretaries of States. Chief Secretary, J&K, B V R Subrahmanyam also participated in the video conference.

This was also the first PRAGATI meeting in the new term ofthe Union Government.

   

The Prime Minister reviewed the progress in resolution ofgrievances related to the PM AwasYojana (Urban). He underlined the resolve ofthe Union Government to ensure that no family will be left without a home by2022, and exhorted the officers to work diligently towards this objective, andremove all hurdles coming in the way, an official handout said.

The Prime Minister reviewed in detail, the working ofAyushman Bharat.

He was informed that around 35 lakh beneficiaries haveavailed of hospital admissions and over 16000 hospitals have joined the schemeso far.

The Prime Minister called for dialogue with States whichcould help in evolving best practices, and further improvements in the scheme.

He said that in the Aspirational Districts, a study shouldbe done on the benefits and positive impact of the scheme. He sought to knowwhat steps are being taken to curb occasional cases of fraud and misuse in thisscheme.

Reviewing the progress in Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan, PrimeMinister called for use of technology to evolve a mechanism to collect feedbackfrom Divyang-jan, on accessibility issues being faced by them in publicpremises.

He called for greater public involvement and sensitivity infinding solutions for promoting accessibility for the Divyang-jan.

Emphasizing the importance of Jal-Shakti, Prime Ministercalled upon States to put in maximum efforts towards water conservation,especially during the current monsoon season.

The Prime Minister also reviewed the progress of eightimportant infrastructure projects in the railway and road sectors spread overseveral states.
