Hurriyat (G) alleges harassment of leaders, their relatives

Hurriyat Conference (G) today alleged harassment of pro-freedom leaders, activists and their relatives by the investigating agencies.

“After failing to curb and contain the ongoing movement forright to self-determination by all the military might, government is framingand arresting leaders, activists and their relatives by using the investigatingagencies, so that they surrender and stop voicing the sentiments of theiroppressed and suppressed nation,” a spokesman of Hurriyat (G) said in astatement.

   

Commenting on the quizzing of Altaf Ahmad Shah and ZahoorWatali by Enforcement Directorate (ED) and grilling of Hurriyat (G) chairman’sson Syed Naseem Geelani by Nation Investigation Agency (NIA), the spokesmansaid, “On the one hand, those involved in Samjuta Express blast in 2007 in whichmore than 80 people, mostly Pakistanis were killed, are set free by the courts,while pro-freedom people and their relatives are harassed and threatened.”

“Altaf Ahmad Shah and Zahoor Watali are already under thecustody in Tihar jail for the past two years and fresh questioning depicts the mindset of rulers. They areusing Kashmir card to lure the voters,” the spokesman said.
