Hurriyat (G) leaders, activists hold candlelight protests at Budgam, Magam

Hurriyat Conference (G) leaders and activists today held candlelight protests at Budgam and Magam in central Kashmir against alleged unabated human rights violations by the state forces in Kashmir.

“The Hurriyat leaders and activists organized a candlelight protests at Budgam and Magam as per the weeklong programme given by the Joint Resistance Leaders 

   

(JRL) ahead of World Human Rights Day being observed on December 10, to protest against the unabated human rights violations across Kashmir,” a Hurriyat spokesman, said in a statement. 

“The authorities are desperately trying to hide these gross human rights abuses by not even allowing the candle and torch protests and forcibly preventing the people to register their peaceful protests which are just aimed to attract the attention of international community towards the oppressive tactics employed by forces in Kashmir,” the spokesman quoted Hurriyat leaders as having said while addressing the protesters.
