Hurriyat Conference (G) leaders and activists today held protests at Hyderpora here and Budgam in central Kashmir against arrests, slapping of PSA on political and religious leaders, and NIA summons to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Naseem Geelani.
“Protest marches were organized by the Hurriyat Conferenceat Hyderpora and Budgam, against booking of Muhammad Yasin Malik and others pro-freedom leaders under PSA, sendingthe summon to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Naseem Geelani by NIA, the spree ofmass arrests and ban on politico-religious organization Jamaat-I-Islami,” aHurriyat (G) spokesman said in a statement.
The spokesman said that besides large number of people ,Hurriyat leaders, including Molvi Bashir Irfani, Ameer Hamza Shah, BilalSidqui, Syed Muhammad Shafi, Muhammad Maqbool Magami, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah,Muhammad Amin Bhat, Imran Ahmad Bhat, Haji Qadous, Zahoor-ul-Haq Geelani,Muhammad Rafiq Shah and others participated in the protest.
Aga Syed Akeel Moosvi organized a protest rally in Budgam,which was scheduled to be headed by Aga Syed Hassan Mouswi, but he was putunder house arrest by the police, the spokesman added.
