He said the protest led by conglomerate leader Raja Mehraj-ud-din resented proposal to settle the West Pakistan refugees.
Hurriyat Conference (G) on Friday held protests in various areas of Kashmir against the New Delhi’s reported plan to settle West Pakistan refugees in the state and what it said "propaganda" against its chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani by some news channels.
In a statement, Hurriyat (G) spokesperson said on the call of its chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a protest march was taken out at Hyderpora locality here.
He said the protest led by conglomerate leader Raja Mehraj-ud-din resented proposal to settle the West Pakistan refugees. "We have taken to streets to protest conspiracies to change demography of the state and propaganda unleashed by different TV channels against Geelani sahib," Mehraj-ud-din said.
On the occasion, the general secretary of Hurriyat (G) Ghulam Nabi Sumji cautioned that "if any untoward incident happened with the Geelani sahib in New Delhi, then all its responsibility would be on those news channels who are making hue and cry over a recent press statement of the conglomerate."
