Hurriyat Conference (M) today condemned the imposition of curfew and restrictions in parts of Srinagar, including Downtown, closure of educational institutions, shifting of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik to Central Jail, Srinagar, and placing the amalgam chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house confinement and restricting him from carrying out his socio-religious and political obligations.

“Such acts are the worst form of repression and dictatorship,” a spokesman of Hurriyat (M) said in a statement. “These tactics are based on mere political vendetta can't muzzle or break the resolve of pro freedom leadership,” he added.

The spokesman expressed grief over the killing of militant Mugees Ahmed Mir of Parimpora during Zakura shootout, paying rich tributes to him. He expressed solidarity with the family of the slain youth.
