Two days after four men from Jammu and Kashmir returned home after being acquitted by the Jaipur High Court, Hurriyat Conference (M) Saturday welcomed their release.
“The four men-Mirza Nisar, Ali Muhammad Bhat and LateefAhmed Waza of Srinagar, and Abdul Gani Goni of Bhaderwah-were released afterspending the prime of their lives in prisons for over two decades,” a statementissued by Hurriyat (M) said.
It added, “We hope that other Kashmiri prisoners languishingin various jails across India will also be released in a similar way andconcrete steps will be taken in that direction.”
Meanwhile, a Hurriyat delegation also visited the homes ofthe three recently released detainees.
