Hurriyat (M) welcomes acquittal of 4 J&K men

Two days after four men from Jammu and Kashmir returned home after being acquitted by the Jaipur High Court, Hurriyat Conference (M) Saturday welcomed their release.

“The four men-Mirza Nisar, Ali Muhammad Bhat and Lateef Ahmed Waza of Srinagar, and Abdul Gani Goni of Bhaderwah-were released after spending the prime of their lives in prisons for over two decades,” a statement issued by Hurriyat (M) said.

It added, “We hope that other Kashmiri prisoners languishing in various jails across India will also be released in a similar way and concrete steps will be taken in that direction.”

Meanwhile, a Hurriyat delegation also visited the homes of the three recently released detainees.
