I-Day celebrated across Kashmir: Army

Army on Wednesday said that the 72nd I-Day was celebrated with “characteristic zeal and patriotic fervor” all across Kashmir.

 In a statement here army’s Srinagar based spokesman said, “The occasion was marked with the tricolor, a symbol of peace, prosperity and sacrifice, being hoisted with pride in various parts of the Valley.”

   

He said, “In celebrations all across Kashmir, including the remote areas along the Line of Control as also the hinterland, the army and awaam pledged to remain by each other’s side and work together towards early return to normalcy.”

He said that Lt Gen A K Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander extended his greetings to the brave and dedicated personnel and families of the Chinar Corps and congratulated the proud gallantry award winners. “The GoC also conveyed his warm greetings to the people of Kashmir and reassured them of the army’s commitment towards their safety, security, and wellbeing,” the spokesman added.
