Itehadul Muslimeen has called for a complete shutdown across Kashmir on Monday against the heinous rape of 3-year old girl at Sumbal in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
In a statement here, Itehadul Muslimeen president MoulanaMasroor Abbas Ansari termed the rape of three-year-old girl as a blot on theface of humanity. “The presence of people with such ill intentions are provinga rot for the society known for upholding its moral values for centuries. Thereis a dire need for evolving a joint strategy to deal with these elements,” hesaid.
Moulana Ansari said,”the incident is not a shocker for just one particular sect or a community butentire humanity and the people of Kashmir collectively feel deeply hurt andpained,” he said.
“We demand a stern punishment to the culprit behind the act.There should be no leniency adopted while dealing with the person involved inthis act,” he said, adding that one hand victim is battling for her life and onthe other hand, efforts are being made to save the culprit which is a seriousconcern.
Moulana Ansari urged people of Kashmir to forge unity on allfronts and not to get swayed away through rumours being spread by vestedinterests working to trigger sectarian frenzy in Kashmir. “Some agencies areworking hard to fuel the sectarian frenzy and it’s high time for people of allsects to remain united and seek an exemplary punishment to the culprit,” hesaid.Meanwhile, a delegation led by Moulana MasroorAbbas Ansari visited Sumbal and met the family members of the three-year-oldvictim. The delegation expressed sympathy and solidarity with the familymembers of victim.
