Revenue officials in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district demolished several structures that had been constructed on government land meant for livestock grazing.
The action was initiated after reports that some persons,while taking advantage of officials’engagement with ongoing elections, had encroached upon the land.
“Soon after receiving information we acted promptly anddemolished the structures,” said Nasir Ahmad, tehsildarTangmarg. He said theland had been encroached upon at Druroo village in Tangmarg. He said a boundarywall, tin shed and other structures had been raised.
