Implement EWS Act in J&K: Shah Faesal urges President Kovind

Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) Thursday urged the President Ram Nath Kovind to implement economically weaker sections (EWS) Act for competitive exams in Jammu and Kashmir.

JKPM President, Dr Shah Faesal, in a statement, said, “Theyouth, who have qualified NEET exam on a national level, are being deprivedbecause of the non-implementation of EWS Act in J&K. Their careers are atstake because the implementation needs the Parliament’s nod, as the state isunder President’s rule. The aspirants should not have to suffer because of the prevailingpolitical conditions in the state.”

   

He added, “It is, therefore, the duty of the centralgovernment to ensure that the EWS category is implemented without any delay, soas to save the future of hundreds of deserving students.”

Meanwhile, the party appointed Mohammed Ramzan, formerSecretary Legislative Assembly, as Vice-President Parliamentary Affairs andin-charge south Kashmir.

While reviewing the functioning of the party’s south Kashmirunit, party President Dr Shah Faesal reconstituted the ground team.

Faesal said, “Muhammad Ramzan is widely known in politicaland administrative circles and his experience in public service will be a greatasset for the party.”  Meanwhile, RiyazMajid was appointed as the party’s Additional Spokesperson.
