India, Pakistan exchange fire in Uri sector of north Kashmir

The armies of India and Pakistan on Tuesday night exchanged heavy fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

PTI news agency, quoting an unnamed army official, said that Pakistan army fired at Indian positions in Uri sector.

“Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire by resorting to unprovoked firing on our posts in Uri sector,” an army official said.

There was no damage in the firing, he said, adding that further details are awaited.
