Indo-Pak talks without K-issue on agenda not beneficial for Kashmiris: Dr Qasim

The resumption of dialogue between Pakistan and India is not going to be beneficial in any respect for the people of Kashmir.

Incarcerated senior separatist leader and Muslim Dini Mahazamir Dr Muhammad Qasim today said any dialogue between India and Pakistan without core issue of Kashmir on agenda would not benefit Kashmiris.

“The resumption of dialogue between Pakistan and India is not going to be beneficial in any respect for the people of Kashmir. It becomes evident that the realistic steps taken by Pakistan government in the recent months regarding Kashmir were all aimed at bringing India to the dialogue  table in which  there is no mention of Kashmir. We have the right to ask Pakistan government that right from  November 1, 1947  when

Qaid Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah met Governor General Mountbatten regarding Kashmir dispute more than 100 parleys on this contentious issue have taken place. For the past 67 years the two countries have talked but have not been able to solve minor issues like Sir Creek and Siachen, what can be expected out this so called dialogue this time?” a spokesman of Mahaz quoted Dr Qasim as having said in a statement from jail.’’
