International university for Kashmir: Volunteers meet held in Srinagar

The international university for Kashmir initiative led by Mehboob Makhdoomi, held a volunteers’ meet for Srinagar district here on Sunday, a statement said.

 It said that morethan forty volunteers were present at the venue. The agenda of the meeting wasto brief the new cadre of volunteers and tell them about their roles.

   

Makhdoomi, according to the statement, talked about the need of an international university in theValley. After a brief address by Tibet Bakal (ex-principal Islamia College/Dean Cluster University Srinagar) and Riyaz Ahmad Shagoo (ex J&K Bankofficer) there was a question answer session.

A membership drive was held after the meeting and theparticipants registered as volunteers for the cause. Coordinators from variousdistricts were also present at the venue.

Makhdoomi said that the project belonged to every citizen ofJammu and Kashmir. “If anyone wants to interact before contributing in anyway, our office would welcome them,” he added.
