Internet access across Jammu and Kashmir to remain at 2G speed till April 3

Mobile Internet service across Jammu and Kashmir will continue to be restricted to 2G speed till April 3, said the Home Department of the Union Territory, in an order, on Thursday.

“The Internet speed shall be restricted to 2G only till April 3 unless modified earlier,” read the order, issued by Principal Secretary to the Government, Shaleen Kabra.

Mobile Internet services were suspended in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 last year, in the wake of abrogation of Article 370. However, low-speed or the 2G service was restored on January 25 this year.
