Internet snapped as forces launch searches in north Kashmir’s Hajin

Government forces on Thursday launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

An official said that the search operation was launched inMir Mohalla, Hajin after receiving inputs about the presence of militants.

   

He said that the CASO was jointly launched by Army’s 13 RRunit, Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) and CentralReserve Police Force (CRPF).

He said that militants are believed to be trapped inside aresidential house.

The Internet services have been snapped as a precautionarymeasure in parts of district Bandipora, the official said.

Earlier, forces had launched searches in Wahab Parrey andBanyari localities of Hajin.

“The search operation was called off at both the placesafter inputs were received about the presence of militants in Mir Mohalla,” theofficial said.
