Several organizations on Monday held programmes in connection with the International Women’s Day.
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwamaorganized a function at District Court Complex. The function was presided overby Chairman DLSA, Principal and Session Judge, Pulwama, Muhammad Ibraheim Wani.
The Chairman highlighted the role and contribution of womenin various fields of life. Secretary, DLSA, Khurshid ul Islam highlighted therights of women.
The JKRLM, in collaboration with ICDS Department, organizedan interactive session of SHG’S with additional Mission Director JKRLM, SajadYehya Naqash at Pulwama.
Naqash highlighted the role of women in socio- economicdevelopment and said that in present day world, women were excelling in everyfield and treading new paths to achieve socio-political and economicempowerment.
The Department of Agriculture, Kashmir also celebrated theDay by organizing a conference at Lalmandi here.
Director Agriculture, Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi inauguratedthe conference. The Director highlighted importance of educating women,stressing that women need to take active part in decision making, especially inthe matters concerning them directly.
Bandipora admin organizes seminar, plantation drive, awarenessrally
The district administration Bandipora celebrated the Day byorganizing a seminar at Government Girls Secondary School.
A plantation drive and awareness rally was also organized onthe occasion. The programme was organized by the administration incollaboration with Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK).
The ADC highlighted rights of women and significance of theDay. He highlighted performance of the district administration in implementingwomen centric welfare schemes aimed at providing handholding to the women tomake them self-reliant.
He reiterated the importance of gender sensitization of allstakeholders in society to ensure real empowerment of women.
