TAKE ACTION AGAINST LAND MAFIA

We want to inform the authorities that land Mafia is active on city outskirts. These people buy A-class agricultural lands from farmers and convert that land into a plot meant for residential purposes. They have almost filled 50% agricultural land in the process many irrigation channels even have blocked. This had compelled the farmers to sell their lands to them. We  appeal the concerned officials to wake up act against this Mafia.

Illegal structures coming up in Jawahar Nagar

For the past one and a half year we have raised issues of illegal structures coming up in Jawahar Nagar all along the main roads with column structures for commercial purpose. It looks like that Srinagar Municipal Corporation is hand in glove with the builders. Our repeated complaints to the Enforcement officer & the department are not being  responded to . These structures are aimed at making the area commercial. This has resulted in traffic mess all around. The structures have no approval from the SMC and have no parking spaces.

We urge the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar , Commissioner SMC , to look into this matter and initiate strict action against the violators and the SMC Officials who are sleeping over the matter.

Residents urge Works Minister

Despite sufficient funding by Union government, the roads under PMGSY scheme are being constructed at a snail’s pace in Anantnag district.

The slow pace of construction work isn’t only negating the official claims but is also putting the precious lives of the citizens at risk.

Contractors who have been allotted contracts of constructing these roads have evidently abandoned the works after initiating them last year in various areas of the district. The suspension of work on Khiram-Ashdhar road is making people suffer. Our repeated pleas to expedite the work have fallen flat on the deaf ears. We appeal the works minister to look into the matter and get this road constructed at the earliest.

Blood donor seeks answer from SKIMS authorities

I went to SKIMS Soura on May 8 to donate blood voluntarily. I went inside to present myself for mandatory evaluation as is necessary for donating blood.

The lady doctor on duty asked me a few questions about my general health status and gave me a slip of paper to be presented in blood donation chamber.

I was shocked to note that without checking my blood pressure, which is must, among other things, she jotted it down as 120/80. It is a shame.

I am appalled at this unprofessional and sadistic attitude of the concerned doctor.

After, donating the blood  I tried to reach the person incharge of the blood bank but he was not available. I wrote an e-mail to the address provided on SKIMS website to register my protest but till today I have not received any reply from them.

Last time applicants were asked to pay Rs 50/ as form charges and more than 10,000 applicants had applied. This time applicants have been asked to pay Rs 200/. Advertising posts has become a money minting business for the SRTC.

Aspirants

We the residents of Mahind, and its adjoining villages of Duchnipora area in Bijbehara are facing serious problems, thanks to the dilapidated  condition of the road. The widening process of the 11km road stretch from Bijbehara to Sirhama, was started a few years ago but due to the negligence of the construction agencies only 1 km has been completed till date. The commuters especially the employees and others are facing hardships. It takes two hours to complete this journey of 11 kms.
