Gulshanabad, Eco Friends Colony suffer

Residents of Hyderpora-Gulshanabad and Eco Friends Colony are suffering due to the haphazard drainage work which  commenced in May last year. Winter was horrible as the authorities tried to complete the work but kept loopholes throughout, unmindful of the plight of common man. Transport went off the road the day drainage work started last year.

We apprised the concerned authorities on many occasions but our pleas fell on deaf ears.

We the residents appeal the concerned authorities to expedite the work and get this drain constructed at the earliest so that we heave a sigh of relief.

Stray dogs on prowl

SMC has failed to control the growing population of canines, and dog bite incidents in Kashmir. The dogs have unleashed a reign of terror across the Valley.

As per official reports the population of dogs has crossed one lakh figure which is alarming. The SMC must start the sterilization drive to control the growing population of dogs and save the people of Kashmir from them

Aircel leaves subscribers in lurch

Untimely withdrawal of services by Aircel in Jammu and Kashmir has left thousands of subscribers in lurch.

I had recently applied for admission outside the country. The contact details provided by me in the application include the Aircel number which I had . I was working on my accommodation details and was in touch with the groups of students.  All of them were on my Aircel what's app number. A few ago  my phone stopped working and consequently I had to reset it. I have lost all my contacts. The only way out left with me was the backup on Google drive on my Aircel number. But due to company winding up its operation in J&K I have lost touch with my college and other friends.

I went to the head office of Aircel in Anantnag town to get the port UPC number where I see many people like waiting. To my utter surprise I was told that no one has come to open up the office from past three days. The circle number for Aircel given by TRAI also is dysfunctional. I request the concerned authorities to look into the matter and help thousands of subscribers like me.

Harnambal woes

The residents of Harnambal, Natipora ( Mehjoor Nagar)  are  facing acute shortage of potable water.

We apprised the concerned authorities on many occasions. Every time they have assured us that matter would be looked into but their assurances have proved to be a hoax.

Another being faced buy us is that there is no road connectivity between Mehjoor Nagar and Harnambal. We request the Works Minister to connect our area with Mehjoor Nagar.

Vilagam appeals Naeem Akther

We the residents of Sheikhpora-Vilagam in Handwara appeal the Works Minister to get a bridge constructed  over Nalla Veegi at Sheikhpora Villagam.

The work has already been approved but the construction of the bridge is yet to commence. Till date we have approached the concerned authorities on many occasions but all in vain. Now we request the R&B Minister Naeem Alther to intervene and help us out.

Tajdar colony Zakura without basic amenities

Tajdar colony is at a stone’s throw distance from Zakura crossing and at a walking distance from Hazratbal.  Despite it being a prime site, it has always been neglected by the authorities.

There are no civic amenities, be it drainage system, ration depot, drinking water, electricity transformer available in the area.

Irony is that all the roads of the adjoining colonies like Shahi-Hamdan, Illahibagh, Pathan colony and Professor Colony were macdamized last year. Professor colony was macdamized twice in one year.

The dilapidated and deplorable condition of the internal roads of the Tajdar Colony mock at the claims of the government about developing Srinagar and its outskirts.

We met the Chief Engineer last year many times. Despite he passing verbal orders for macdamization nothing was done. We met the Executive Engineer with the same request but he avoided us on one or other pretext.

We request the Chief Engineer to pass the written orders to the concerned Executive Engineer for early macdamization of the road leading towards our  colony and mitigate our sufferings.
