Jaish claims Sopore IED blast that left four cops dead

Militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed the responsibility for an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Sopore town on Saturday that left four policemen dead.

In a statement issued to news agency GNS, Jaish-e-Mohammad spokesperson claimed that they have attacked the forces party in Sopore. “The Shaheed Afzal Guru squad carried out the attack,” he said.

   

The spokesperson claimed that  five forces’ personnel were killed and several others suffered injuries in the attack.

The attack came on the day when the apple town is observing a complete shutdown to mark the anniversary of 1993 massacre.

57 civilians were killed after paramilitary BSF men opened indiscriminate fire on January 6, 1993.
