Jama’at aghast over the killing of a pregnant woman in pulwama

Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir today strongly condemned the killing a pregnant woman, Firdousa, at Shadimarg in Pulwama district on Friday evening allegedly in the forces’ firing.

Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, the Jama’at spokesman Adocate Zahid Ali, in a statement said, “Hundreds of such incidents have occurred in Kashmir in which scores of innocent civilians have either lost their lives or sustained injuries with some becoming disabled for whole life. The people living in Kashmir are the worst victims of human rights violations. Every day they are being subjected to the worst oppression and suppression by the forces. They are subjected to reprisals irrespective of their age and gender.”

“Jama’at appeals to the international human rights organisations to take a serious note of the human rights violations being committed by the forces in Kashmir and take effective steps to ensure immediate end to these rights abuses,” the spokesman said.
