The National Testing Agency on Tuesday announced that the JEE (Mains) exams is proposed to be held in the last week of May this year.

The notification in this regard was issued by Director General NTA, Vineet Joshi on Tuesday.

“It is notified that as of now the JEE Mains examination is proposed to be held in the last week of May 2020. Exact date will be announced after assessing the situation in the coming weeks,” the notification reads.

On March 18, the NTA issued a notification and announced postponement of the ensuing JEE (Main) April 2020 examinations scheduled on April 05, 07, 09 and 11. The decision to postpone the exam was taken in wake of the Coronavirus outbreak and national wide lockdown announced for 21 days to contain the epidemic.

“We are hopeful that we would get back to normal relatively soon, but for now we are closely monitoring the scenario to evaluate if the situation may necessitate any change in the schedule,” the notification reads.

It reads that the admit cards for the examination will be issued after April 15, based on the situation at that time.

“NTA would keep students updated about the latest developments and would inform them about changes and exact dates of examination much in advance,” the notification reads. The Director General NTA through the notification advised the candidates and their parents to keep visiting jeemain.nta.nic.in and www.nta.ac.in for updates.
