The equations are such that even a single vote cast wrongly can disturb all our calculations. That is why the training session was held.
Hectic political activity is underway in the state’s winter capital Jammu, with major political parties giving final touches to their strategy for the RajyaSabha polls scheduled on February 7.
According to sources, the Peoples Democratic Party Thursday afternoon held a training session for all its 28 MLAs to cast their vote properly in the polls. Besides PDP legislators, MLA ZanskarBaqir Rizvi also attended the session.
“The equations are such that even a single vote cast wrongly can disturb all our calculations. That is why the training session was held,” a PDP leader said.
The party, according to sources, is also meeting on dinner Friday to give final touches to their strategy on ensuring the win of PDP-BJP candidates on all the four seats.
The BJP and PDP have fielded two candidates each. While Fayaz Ahmad Mir and Nazir Ahmad Laway are PDP candidates, BJP has fielded Chander Mohan Sharma and Shamsher Singh Manhas.
The PDP is sure to win the first seat while it has a bright chance on the other after Rizvi decided to side with it.
Meanwhile, sources said Congress leader GhulamNabi Azad held a meeting with the party legislators at his Jammu residence this evening.
The National Conference MLAs, on the other hand, are meeting in Jammu tomorrow at 4 pm to deliberate on the RS poll strategy, sources said.
