J&K Guv wants students to return to colleges outside Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik Monday orderedthat a team be constituted to ensure that students from the valley, who hadreturned home after the Pulwama attack, go back to their respective educationinstitutes across the country.

The team of officers from the J-K government would holdconsultations with the managements of the educational institutions of Dehradunand Uttrakhand and other states where a large number of students from Kashmirare studying, a Raj Bhavan spokesperson said.

   

The team would look into various issues like safety of thestudents, timely completion of courses, matters relating to attendance andmissed lectures by the students.

“After reviewing the whole scenario, the team willsubmit a report to the Governor about the overall situation including stepsbeing taken to ensure safe return of the students and catching up withscheduled academic calendar of the respective educational institutions,”the official said.

Fearing for their safety following a string of attacks on people of Kashmiri origin in various parts of India, several students from Kashmir had returned home in the valley after 40 CRPF personnel died in Pulwama attack on February 14.
