J&K has witnessed development stagnation: Altaf Bukhari

Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari Thursday said that Jammu and Kashmir had witnessed developmental stagnation.

“J&K has witnessed a developmental stagnation due to empty populist slogans of certain political parties,” an Apni Party statement quoted Bukhari as saying while welcoming new entrants into the party fold at its Srinagar office.

The statement said Panchayat members hailing from Gangoo halqa of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district joined the party.

“Apni Party has pledged to shun hollow slogans and work at the grass root level for the betterment of people,” Bukhari said in the statement. “The legitimacy of a political party depends upon the works they do for the welfare of the people.”

It said that he impressed upon the new entrants to work altruistically for the welfare of the common people.

The statement said that besides Bukhari, the joining ceremony was attended by senior party leaders Ghulam Hassan Mir, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas, Noor Muhammad and Ghulam Muhammad Mir.

It said that the new entrants expressed gratitude to the Apni Party leadership for providing them with a stupendous political platform and swore to work painstakingly for the welfare of people and brace the party at grass root level.
