He said NC continues to strive for implementing autonomy resolution in the state which was duly passed by the state’s legislative assembly.

National Conference (NC) additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal Saturday said Jammu and Kashmir witnessed peace, prosperity and massive development only when NC was in power. He said only NC guarantees to protect the identity, individuality and brotherhood of the people of the state.

“Be it in the field of health, education, agriculture, tourism or communication, NC played a vital role in reshaping all these sectors to boost the economy of the state. We took historic decisions to uplift all these sectors,” Kamal told a delegation from Poonch, Rajouri.

He said in 1980, Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah after receiving Rs 20 crore from the central government started construction of the Mughal road after which the work was furthered by Dr Farooq Abdullah and G M Shah.

The senior NC leader similarly the dream of having Baba Ghulam Shah University, also sketched by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah was finally realized during the tenure of Dr Farooq Abdullah as the CM of the state.

He said NC continues to strive for implementing autonomy resolution in the state which was duly passed by the state’s legislative assembly.

“Moreover, our party has served as a bridge for improving the relations between India and Pakistan,” he added.
